help with mod list

Hey guys, Im Andy and am new to the DSM thing. I am buying a 1990 laser Rs turbo from my uncle this saturday. I am paying $500 for it. It needs a new battery, tires/rims, has an oil leak coming from the sending unit, and the power steering is not working. Once I get it running up to par I am goin to start modding it. I Was wondering if you guys could take a look at my mod list and tell me if I have made any misteaks. Thanks.

Welcome to the board, but you need to walk before you can run. You have your head in the right direction. If I were you I would just keep it simple and get ones thing at a time. Heres how I started out and ran a 13.6

3" VRS piping kit and cheapy 3" muffler $250
K&N filter $30
Boost Gauge $40
MBC $50
Palm + Cables $65

I pulled off a 13.6 with those simple mods. From there I would add the ported 2g mani, and port the stock turbo while you are there. It all depends on what it needs, it may need a new turbo. Good luck! Your in the right spot to learn everything you need to know

Like Boost95 said, you can not just throw on all kinds of mods that have been proven to work well and have an extremely fast car. I would do the simple stuff first and then make slow progress to test and see how your car responds after adding on certain modifications. Go ahead and get up to #8 as well as the logging stuff to make sure everything is running OK. Once you have done all of that and see what your car feels like and have noticed how it responds to certain things you do to it, then you will be ready to add more and more. Just make sure to not rush the mods.
