1994 talon tsi -6bolt swap

Already on the car:
-vr speed FMIC
-3inch turbo back exhaust
-dejon intake
-k&n filter
-egt gauge
-boost gauge
-lc1(needs repair)
-hks type o TT
-Eprom ecu
-1g bov

Things waiting to go on:
-fuel lab afpr kit
-ss recir o2 housing
-ported 6cm turbine housing
- Dsm link lite
-walbro 255 w/rewire kit
-new oil return gaskets
-7cm gasket
-valve cover gasket
-slim fan

would 550's be a good thing to add on, and with these additional mods(maintenace already done) what kinda boost could this setup withstain. Anything else that could be added or anyone feels should be

it is important to take care of any/all maintenance issues, leaks included. if you have the oil return gasket to fix a current problem, then address that. same goes for the valve cover gasket and any other gasket, seals, etc. this includes addressing issues with brakes and brake related components (SS lines upgrade is a nice mod).

now would be a good time to address "little" things like replacing hoses, lines, stripped/exposed wires, connectors, sensors, etc...

as to your mods... a higher flowing fuel pump are among the list of initial uprades. do this before or at the same time as the injector mod (more on injectors below). the afpr is really not yet necessary.

install the dsmlink and learn how to use it asap. dial in the current setup. you did not indicate if you have a boost controller. if not, install one (but avoid the temptation to go high boost until you have learned to use the dsm link on stock or slightly higher than stock boost).

550 injectors: if you have them already then they should be fine. if you don't then get them. more importanly, knowing how to use the dsmlink allows you to know if you need to go higher.

if your turbo back exhaust does not have a high flow cat, then install one.

consider addressing the suspension and related maintenance or mods. current issues with tie rods, wheel berrings, cv boots, axles, etc. should be addressed. upgrading select bushings would be a good idea, as are sway bars, but these can wait until after the motor/tuning is dialed in. same goes for springs/shocks.

the o2 housing is more bling than a necessity and along with the ported turbine housing can go on when you upgrade the turbo, which you should not do until after you get the car dialed in (as noted above); this would be the time to intall an afpr

if your fan is working, then hold off on the slim fan (unless you are just itching to install it).

i need to put a slimfan in because the stock one is rubbing a hole through my coupler on my j pipe.AFPR is necessary with 255 so it is not wildly rich at idle. I am in the process of doing the cv joints. I have a hallman es. The o2 housing is functional as well as"bling". the car is lowered a little bit.

If my list does not seem well covered or missing anything please let me know

list is pretty good. above there were alot of good points brought up. what hp are you planning to acheive? if its not going over a 16g why not use the 195 fuel pump therefore there would be no need for a fpr.

195 fuel pump?? I wasn't aware there was a 195.. :ohdamn:
Don't post if you don't know what your talking about, plain and simple.

Your forgetting a 2G mas, and with Link you can run big injectors and tune for it. Your also going to need a Wideband o2, and why don't you just go with a 7cm housing on the 14b? Then you won't risk cracking the 6cm housing. No one can really tell you how much boost you can run, it all depends on the car and how much knock etc your seeing..

yeah its a 190 fuel pump not a 195

would def. upgrade the massair either a 2g or gm mass air , wideband 02 is a must , and a safc to tune with or a eprom ecu with a chip and i would go bigger with the injectors so u can go further down the road and not have to buy injectors again 680cc or bigger

Why would he run a SAFC and a Chip when Link is way better? You can run as big of injectors you want with link, with a SAFC your limited to 650's..

Lite does have speed density but I heard that your limited to a certain psi you can tune to with it.

ya there is no need for an SAFC if your getting DSMlink. And if i was you for the price dif i would just save up and get the full v3 version instead of the lite. and 550's will do you good to a point i maxed out my 550's on 22 psi on a E316g.

dsmdeliveryboy - great points! kudos to you for clarifying the point I tried to make [but did such a poor job doing] in my original post re: the dsmlink relative to the afpr. wideband is definitely essential. if i were to choose betw a 2g mas and the speed density capability v3 dsmlink allows, i would go with the latter, especially with its ability to save of 2 fuel maps. dsmlink v3 is such great value to the point that for a great majority of dsmers, there is really no point to fork out the extra $ for the AEM EMS.
