I have a 97 GST and got everything installed with RRE's kit. Everthing is done, but the damn J-pipe hits my fan! How can I get it in there? Is it supposed to hit the fan? I havent called RRE cuz they dont asnwer yet. But myabe I'm not putting it on right. If I line it up it looks like it works, but once I try and put it in place it hits the fan.

Depending on the size of the pipe and the angle that it was welded at you may need to trim the fan to let if occupy that space. There are also at least two different J pipes, one regular one that drops behind the pass side fan and one that is designed for 1G short route piping, which is what I have since it was included with my turbo and I'm too cheap to buy another one. Mine comes out straight and goes in between the fans, I had to make brackets to move the fans over a bit. I'll take some pics tomorrow to elaborate but maybe you should post some pics so we can see what's going on.

Thanks, But I would'nt have asked if I did'nt research first. I used that to install the turbo kit.
Wasn't being rude to you by pointing those out just some people don't read before asking.
The person above me that stated to cut part of the fan actually has the right idea. A friend of mine with a b16g installed trimmed the fan blade and the fan housing itself a little to where it wouldn't interfere with the pipe.

Goodluck tho.
:)

RRE is real good about sending new parts out.

the new one will prob still be tight. you can just loose the a/c fan and move the other one over to the other side of the radiator.

you dont really need to move or lose any fan... just shave some of the shroud off.. its only there to protect the fan. and as long as the j pipe is stationary [ which it should be ] i see no problems.

when i installed my 16g i had to jam my radiator and fans down on the pipe.. this inadvertantly just took off some of the plastic shroud. works for me, and it should for you

OK, I finally took some pics.

Here is my ghetto 1G short route J pipe on my 2G. You will also notice me pointing out my custom fan brackets.

PINA motorsports here in seattle apparently has a j-pipe that does not require cutting the fan shroud. you can google them to get contact info.
