Help with installing a Rear Metal Tow Hook

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

here are the pics of the trailer hitch and where it attaches. these were taken from the right rear tire looking towards the back of the car. i didn't realize i had so much rust back there OMG. anyway now that i see this i don't know how much it will help you but maybe it will give you an idea of how to fabricate something to make it work.

Looks like you will definitely have to mock up some sort of long bracket. If you truly want it to serve a purpose make sure you use beefy stainless steel tubes and large bolts to screw it to the rear

Got it done. Have to say that I am impressed with it. It was relocated to the right corner which is the same side as my front tow hook. It was bolted to a support or some kinda frame work and the bumper was cut.... here is what it will look like once everything is reattached. Thanks to all who actually wanted to help me, and spared me their own opinions. :thumb:

im really wanting put one of these on the front of my car... any kits out there guys?

The install looks pretty clean! Hopefully it's also attached to a sturdy point so it can be used if needed.

I do think mounting it below the bumper with an extended bracket would have been a good idea. But whatever works. :)

Thx Wes! I thought it came out better than expected. The kit I bought, if you can call it that, was just the hooks, bolts, washers and some neat spacers the same color as the hooks. The hooks have the godspeed project lettering in the loops. I plan to use some PW7 Northstar White Touch Up Paint with a fine brush to color them in. I should have done it before the front and rear hooks were put on. :ohdamn:
