2G Help with IDLE

Hi There!!! I need some help with my eclipse 1995 gst. The car revs goes up to 3500 or more and never goes down. I replaced already the maf sensor, throttle body and minor things but I cant figured out. I need some help please. Please email me at [email protected].

I had this same problem with my second Talon, Christine. It was the idle air control valve, which sits on the back of the throttle body if I'm remembering correctly. It had gotten stuck and it was idling at 2500 rpms and would climb when in park.

You could also check for other boost leaks/vacuum leaks. I would also check egr and throttle position sensor

Check the brake booster hose it probably ripped or came off sounds like a huge vacuum leak.

Boost leack test usually is the problem to high idle at least on my car, most of the time

I just replaced the ISC and still doing the same. Now it happens after 10 minutes of the car being on. Im loosing my head with this 2g. About to send it to the junk yard. Anyone around the Houston, Texas area that can help. Thanks.

I'll take it if you're going to junk it. I'm sure I could figure out where the extra air is getting into the intake manifold.

Ok. I build a Boost leak tester, and I found a broken hose right over the manifold, is that vacuum??I replaced the hose but the revs keep going high after the 10 minutes mark. No idea yet!!

Where is the EGR valve located?? I cant find it. Thanks. Im trying that this time.

The EGR valve is basically directly under the throttle body, a little lower than the ISC and farther in toward the middle of the engine bay. Looking from the passenger side of the car, you should be able to see it mounted to the manifold under the throttle body.

When did this start? Was it fine yesterday?(meaning it came from nowhere) did you just fix something this started?

wow i have the same issue I've replaced every sensor besides throttle sensor and it still happens,all new gasketsmnew water pump fuel pump fuel filter gas tank fuel lines,fans,new used motor from a salvage and after 10 min the darn thing revs up super high and shuts off even driving it and changingg gears it'll just die its insane i know how ac1234 feels its been my project car for a year and a half

I had been trying to find the solution for this like for a month!!! I believe that a guy that was working in my car did something wrong because he wants the car. The car was fine till the day that he knew that I was leaving for the Army!!! Im so desperate with all of this!!

Im still thinking about this. Last time that a person worked in my car was installing an apexi afc. Did you think that can be that is not working properly?? I remembered that he told me that I cant remove the AFC because something with the ECU, I cant remember so well.

yeah I've done replaced everything some ppl say re place the throttle position sensor but idk i only have 100 on amazon n they carry my parts

I just got the problem with the car. It was the Apexi AFC, I unplugged it and idle ok, I plugged it back and the revs went high again. Im so glad that we can figured this thing out. Thanks everybody for the help and the advises!!!

With the AFC doesn't it drive like crap? I mean the idle is fixed now does it run like it should?

With the AFC it was running a little bad, now im feeling the car again like normally!!!

I need to know what is for screw right behind the throttle body, next to the throttle cable. Thanks.

Only screw on the throttle body is the BISS - Base Idle Set Screw

Is that the one next to the round thing where the throttle cable is?? Im not talking about the one in the front upper of the throttle. Thanks.
