Hi There!!! I need some help with my eclipse 1995 gst. The car revs goes up to 3500 or more and never goes down. I replaced already the maf sensor, throttle body and minor things but I cant figured out. I need some help please. Please email me at [email protected].

This is my first post and I dont know if I posted in the right place. Thanks.

Is that the one next to the round thing where the throttle cable is?? Im not talking about the one in the front upper of the throttle. Thanks.
Are you talking about the fasteners for the Throttle Position Sensor? Those have screw heads on them.

what should i do with my 95 eclipse rs manual 5 speed it high idles after 10 min and i called mitsubishi they no longer fix the code so there is no way of fixing my car and idk wit to do

ment 1995 but yeah i ordered one and its coming this week do u know where all the hoses go on egr vacuum and theres a black box under the intake

This link has a lot of information regarding your idle situation.

http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/idle-surge-problems-and-solutions.172175/

Follow this thread. Search for idle issues and TONS of good info pops up. You probably have a boost leak. make or buy a boost leak tester and learn to use it. One broken or loose hose can screw up everything. Get a factory service manual. Very helpful. Start at the beginning. Read the Vfaq and do your research. Welcome to DSMs.. hope ya like wrenchin..

Oh and I just noticed you have an rs so I'm thinkin it's not a boost leak. I searched your code and it has something to do with your secondary air system. I see you found the same thread..looks complicated. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

LOL been working on my car for a year and a half theres lots of redone pretty much every single thing is brand new in my car and i still get this annoying po412 code

Ok, now I got another problem. With the AFC disconected the revs goes down, but the car is running rich(when i push the acelerator is not responding). I plug the AFC back, the idle goes higher and the car goes back to normal in the mixture. I dont know what to do now. Sounds like I cant disconect the AFC to have the car running normally but then the revs are really high. Im losing my head with this car.

You all make your problem sound like the car is just sitting there at idle and all by itself it goes up in RPM.
If that is true then I got nothin'.

BUT - if you are stepping on the throttle an it does not come down.
Then check this:
Inside the cabin, at the throttle pedal, the throttle cable has a plastic sleeve/housing/bushing
that can keep the pedal and cable from returning to idle.
It is like an inner sleeve that breaks off and keeps the pedal stuck.
Either break it off and remove it completely or shove it into the firewall side deep enough that
it cannot come back out.

Regarding engine idle problems at the manifold and throttle body, last resort is to use the blocking plate
to remove the effect of the idle air speed control

But after doing the throttle shaft seals and making some gaskets to help seal the throttle to manifold
my idle problems were fixed and boost leak tests passed.

Well if your AFC is causing the problem you should be troubleshooting around it. Try taking it out of the picture and using a jump wire set up in the harness to see what your air fuel mix does. With your AFC it shouldn't really make the idle jump that hi because if you add fuel and flood the injectors the car what drop rpm and die same with to much air it will cut and die

Sorry but also forgot to mention that you may wanna look into the TB itself also. I know that it is a rare part to fail but I was having a surging problem before about a year or so ago. I chased my tail for a month looking for the problem. I ended up picking one from the junk yard around $20 and tossed it in. ran the car for about 30 min till idle was normal again and has been fine ever since that day. Just something to look at also.
