I bought another DSM, a '92 AWD read Talon. I think the 14b is going, but it still makes full boost at about 2800-3300 depending on gear and altitude but it smokes like a mo fo.

It smokes a lot, especially under boost. This is why I thought it could be the turbo. I don't think compression is bad because of the spool, so I highly doubt that part of the head gasket popped either.

I also didn't think it is leaky valve seals because those mostly smoke at start-up and the smoke I am getting increases under boost which I don't think leaky valve seals would do.

I also don't think that the breather valve off the valve cover could dump that much do you guys?

Any help would be appreciated. I kind of hope it is only the turbo, for it would be just an excuse to get an EIII16g and some fuel upgrades.

I'd say you pretty much answered your own post.

If the oil return line on the turbo is not clogged, then I would speculate that the shaft seals are leaking which can cause oil consumption like you described. Pull that very easy to get to oil line and check it out. Then if it's clean, you have your answer.

Good Luck
