A friend of mine got a turbo kit for his civic, all turbo XS, but being as we are college students, he doesnt have the time to install this kit for a while, so I figured I would toss the TurboXS H-RFL BOV on my car, it seems to fit the stock intercooler flange, but I noticed that the recirc. would not fit that part of the blow off valve.

Can I use this BOV, or what do I need to get to use it?

You need that thing recirculated since your a stock turbo owner and don't have the GM-MAFT mod. If you don't recirculate the car will run, but like A$$. I'm not familar with the BOV, but if there is any way you can get a hose over where the air is discharged do that and then attatch it to where the normal recirculation hose was

It IS possible to recirculate the XS BOV. It has been done and there is a thread about it on this site. It'll look awkward but it will be recirculated.

this can be recirculated without the MAF translator.
If it fits on the stock flange...go to the hardware store and pickup about 6 inches of rubber piping (plumbing section) and find a size that either 1. fits over the stock recirc. hose or
2. Find a size that fits into the stock recirc. hose. then all you have to do is get some small clamps and clamp the hoses together once they are inside eachother.
I did this with my Greddy Type-R beacuse the inlet was so damn big...and it works fine.. and it cost me $2.36
good luck man.

See if you guys get sick like i did when I watched it burn

for the price and increase in advantages you can get with the GM MAFT, i would get it and only for around $220.00

if i had the money, i would do it.

Alright guys, thanks for all the help, ima try to rig up something, and maybe down the road i can invest in the MAFT

On the other note, My talon burnt down from my wiring harness somehow becoming disconnected from the motor and dragging the ground, it shorted, battery blew up, and everything kinda went with it.

Oh yeah...I live 1.1 miles from the fire department, 10min 38sec response time.

Ok I think I need to jump in here cause all of these guys are leading you astray. FIrst off a MAFT is not what lets you vent. It's the GM MAF which measures are totaly diffrently than either the 1g or 2g MAS. The MAFT is simply used to TRANSLATE the signal of the GM MAF to something your stock ecu will recognize and accomidate for. Second the XS RFL can be recirculated but you need the adapter kit because it comes with a bowl styl attachment that vents the air into the atmospher and you not gonna fit a hose over that thing withough getig like a crazxy big hose. I don't knwo for sure but I didn't think that the RFL would fit on a stock flange but if it does that's good cause I plan on going with one fir my setup and really didn't want to get a adapter for that too.

Whats with everyone and these damn rfl's??? is it cool to be the loudest car on the road? as if the exhaust is not enough?? i had a rfl on my car for a day and got pulled over twice... mr loud bov came off the car as soon as i got home... if you like tickets and like attention go for it... if you wanna be in stealth mode... bad idea to get that hunk a junk....

does that mean you have to buy the GM MAF also??

Yes you have to buy the GM MAF as well. The MAF translator alone will do nothing. It is meant to "translate" the GM MAF signal into a signal that your ECU can do something with. One or the other alone is not going to help you.

Yep he took the words right out my mouth BUTTTTTT you can get a HKS VPC which will let you vent your bov too and can also with the aid of a GCC will alow you to une your car.PRetty dam good to from what I hear, I mean it has taken cars into the 9's so i must be pretty good.

Do a search on HKS VPC & GCC there is tons of info!!!
