help with boost/turbo problem

okay so i start my car today and pull out onto the street and i can hear the turbo, and it sounds different. it sounds more loud and a different tone and its ot generating boost correctly as in not enough boost so i shut it off and check it. in neutral when you give it gas it smokes somewhere near the turbo. i haven't gotten under it yet but when i do ill look around from where. any ideas on where to start? once it cools down ill check for shaft play and oil. thanks in advance.

Check the turbo gaskets,and make sure your oil is not leaking from the oil feed line bolt

the oil line is covered in oil right now. so im thinking blown turbo. its gonna be a week or two before i can get a new turbo(eIII16g here i come ) so if its the gaskets should i park it or am i okay to limp it from home to work and back(5 miles of desert roads)? its just odd cause it seemed to be fine until today oh well any other ideas?

you got the shaft play? and is that oil line is leaking or not?

shaft moves maybe 1/16th to maybe an 1/8th inch so bye bye turbo. anyways is it safe to drive for a few days?

i dont really wanna but i dont feel like calling my tow company to tow it to my work. i pretty much am gonna limp it all 5 miles of it without boosting it. i think i should be OKAY but if i must ill get it towed. any ideas on where i should get my evoIII from? i was looking at it a while ago but i forgot the site. anyways thanks guys

edit: it was extreme psi but they are outta the 34.8mm wg flapper so i dunno if i wanna go there. any other suggestions?

Where's the leak exactly? Oil feedline? Are you smoking out of the exhaust or just near the turbo area under hood?

It can very well be the turbo but there is no way you can come to that conclusion with the information given without further inspection.

and he sad that he got no smokes from the exhaust,but has it from the turbo under the hood

i forgot to update it before i said it was the turbo. theres about a half inch of side to side shaftplay and it scrapes the fins. also theres about 1/8th inch of front to back shaftplay, oh and theres smoke out of the exhaust and oil in the intercooler pipes and the intercooler and if im not mistaken the rest of the car....so im pretty sure its the turbo but ya never know. if it could be something else please let me know where to check so i can check it before i swap the turbo. thanks for the help

Yes it's the turbo, the key was oil in IC, smoke out of exhaust and the scraping, which was never mentioned in previous posts.
