ok so this part is about the length of my thumb.
it has a vacuum line that if i remember correctly goes to the intake.
and another "vac line?" that goes to my fuel rail
has a plug with wires connected to it
and an adjustable knob on the end with the mitsubishi logo on it.

i found it hanging behind my engine on the driverside.
im very new to imports
ive been racing and building classic muscle cars for the past 15yrs and im pretty clueless to all these sensors/vacuum lines/ ecu and so on. haha

i been reading and reading and havent ran into anything ive described on here as of yet. i really hope someone can help me out. id post a pic but i need to see how id even go about posting a picture up on this thread.

thank you so much. i just went and took pictures just incase i needed to post it up but then again i dont know how to.haha.
also how would i know if my car is running "strong" if ive never driven a stock turbo eclipse before?
it doesnt bog, i can feel it boost around 2700-3000rpms . it doesnt pull me into my seat or anything, LOL.
or am i just too used to running 500+ rwhp and thats why it feels so slow?
ive driven in my cousins eclipse but it was heavily modded and it kept me in my seat thru every gear.

sorry for the lame questions but if i dont know then ima ask.

You're FWD. You should spin a little in second gear usually. And third gear pulls should pin you to the seat a little. Do a compression test and make sure you have good compression through all cylinders. Do a boost leak test. And get a boost gauge so you can see how much you are actually running.

ok so i need an aftermarket boost gauge then. ive read in here a few times that the factory gauge is usually incorrect. i do watch it and it does show it boosting when i feel it boosting. as for a compression test..i left all my tools up north.. i just moved here so i have no access to certain tools.LOL. ill do a hard test run in my car tomorrow. i havent tried running it hard yet ### im just making sure things are where they should be ### i keep finding half ass jobs done by previous owner. if u notice in my picture.... it has Honda rims on it.LOL. which im trying to trade or sale as we speak on craigs.haha

Yeah the problem is you don't know your VAC at idle and your boost level (psi) as actual numbers.

and don't worry, 2 of my eclipses were hacked up from previous owners. Sometimes I just wanna :beatentodeath:

ya not only am i a noob to these cars, i pick up a car that have things sitting in places they shouldnt be and wires that arent connected and sensors without plugs in sight yet.... the car runs and no codes are flashing, haha.
guess this car is making me learn even if i didnt want to.LOL

thats what i am afraid of.haha. i was a street racer for 15yrs, then i stopped. i drag raced my 71 chevelle 500+hp. then i bought a eclipse rs as a gas saver and sold my chevelle, then i missed having a pedal to i upgraded to a gst, i think my itch is coming back.LOL

It sounds like you picked up a pretty much stock car that has just been molested. :p
The little T25 won't slam you in the seat. I can barely remember mine with the stock turbo but it came into boost around 2700 and pooped out around 5200rpm. Sorry she came out 210hp so might feel a bit different than 500hp RWD.
Fix all the little BS problems and make sure the maintenance is up and then its time to start having some fun.:hellyeah:

thats what im thinking. fix the bugs which is why id like to meet up with people who know these cars ### its easier to see for myself in person than to read all the hi tech talk.LOL. especially when i dont know the names to most of the little parts on these cars.
then maybe start having some fun and upgrading little by little.
