I am frustrated because I canopt find a decent 1g turbo talon in my area..

Would it be wize to settle for a non turbo and install one afterwards??
What are the drawbacks to taking that road?

Sure you can do it, but in your case where you dont have a car yet, keep looking for a turbo one. In the long run it will pay off.

Agreed, if you don't have a car yet keep looking for a factory turbo car. If you can find an AWD too.

Really not sure about the 1Gs but I will say this you do not want a 1G N/T. Your potential for hp is much greater with a turbocharged model.
