I've already asked about the breakin period and all, it was all very good help from the guys that did reply to my needs but now i have major problems. To recap, I overhauled my engine in a sense, do the pistons, bearings, rods, the works. I was heading back from Providence at about 1am when i headed for the ramp, went to downshift, and the car shut off. (Most of the highway i stayed down and around 70 just in case) Now this had happedned quite a few times during the day but this time thecar wouldn't turn on. To add to this, the car seemed to be overheating, whether this was to due to low antifreeze or not is really unclear to me right now because of some circumstances. Last but not least, the car sounded absolutely awful, it was making any clanging noises like it was the pistons or anything but it def wasn't good. Last but not least, my throttle just kind of stopped working, i hed the gas down to not go anywhere really...I was in third going 35 max. Then the car would shut off on me. I jumped the thing but the same would happen. What is going on?????

Before you do anything else, check for something stupid like a loose CAS plug or something.

However, it sounds a whole lot like something in the motor is done.

I checked everything for leaks, whatever. Belts-Ok. Oil-ok. Anti-freeze-ok. Timing Belt-ok. Now I looked around and didn't find anything, I'll look for that CAS plug. This is what I know right now. The engine is smoking, perhaps burning oil but I hear that is expected for the first couple runs here and there. Now, the lifters(?) i suppose are making an awful lot of noise, its coing from right under the valve cover. I accelerate, the more noise it makes. (The car is in neutral, just idling here) So the car gets turned on, it shutters, smokes some, stays on for some time and then shuts off. I turn it on, it shuts off abut 5 seconds later. Not enough fuel? Faulty sparkies? Rod bearings making the noise? I'm lost here.
