I just installed my Big16g and gained a huge amount of power with it but noticed black smoke out of my exhaust only when under high boost(I have my SAFC set at zero) it is hooked up but not adjusted yet. Anyway I guessed maybee I should lower my fuel pressure with my aftermarket AFPR because my gauge says 43psi, well I unpluged the vac line going to the AFPR and pluged it up and set the fuel psi to 38psi and hooked the vac line back up and the car died, so I unpluged it again and started it back up and raised the psi a little and hooked the line back on and it stayed running but crappy at 39psi, it is blowing a little white smoke and idleing rough now. Any ideas why I can not set mine like a normal dsm.

Also I do have a logger and I just installed the cable but I am having trouble getting the palm to start logging so if I fix it I may have more info.

Why did you unplug the line going to the FPR? That raises the fuel pressure by 1 PSI for 1 PSI of boost. Without that the car will die. Hook it back up and set your fuel pressure to 43 at idle 800-900 RPM's. Your car maybe running rich due to your AFC settings needing to be adjusted. Thats a whole other thread.

Will do, I just keep reading that 1g cars are supposed to be set @38psi and I read that you are supposed to set your base Fuel psi with the FPR vac line unplugged.

But if setting mine at 43psi at idle is what I am supposed to do, than great, because it does not idle very well at 40psi. I am going to mess with my safc in the morn. Thanks

He unplugged it because you adjust fuel pressure with the vac source off. You plugged it back in, so you may want to look for fuel, vac, boost leaks. Try resetting the ECU. The car is probably just not used to the change in fuel.

1G's are 38psi, 2G's are 43psi. As long as you are tuning, your fine at around 40-43.
