I have a eclipse 96 2.0, its been over 6 months with me and it was working fine, one day it started overheating and it since then it hasn't turned on again, the car was then scanned and it gave error codes for the ecu and the coolant sensor, the coolant sensor has always been disconnected so the fan is always turned on, or so said the guy who sold me the car, we've tried 5 different ecus and no spark on the ignition coil, then we used one from a neon 97 and there was spark on the ignition and the car did tried to turn on but it didn't. My dads uncle is a mechanic and he said that it was a problem with the ignition timing. We've checked all the sensors and the relays and they are working fine, they even tested them on another car and the worked fine, what could be my problem? thanks in advance, and excuse my english, its not so good XD:D:hellyeah:

Start simple, Battery needs a full charge, alternator checks out? Then are the ECU the correct models? You need that coolant sensor for sure and have you replaced the thermostat? You said she overheated before turning off. Maybe a failsafe mode kicked on disabling the car to start till sensors are replaced? That last one is just a guess but I knw that could be a possibility.

Also check your plugs because not having the coolant sensor causes the engine to run rich, so even though your having spark issues you still need to check the little things.

make sure ecu is the correct one for the car and replace the coolant temp sensor. the coolant sensor can cause all kinds of wacky issues since the ecu looks at it for a few different things.

do that and then let us know whats going on.

hi , yes all that you say has been checked and its ok, the only thing is the thermostat, ill check it and let you know, thanks:thumb:

well my car on the back says its a gst, don't know if its a 420a

The thermostat has nothing to do with the car not starting. Is this a 4g63 or a 420a?

If it is a gst than it has a 4g63. There is no was possible that you have a neon coil pack on it if it is truly a gst.

if it says gst then its a turbo 4g63 mitsu engine front wheel drive. a 420a is a 2.0l non turbo chrysler engine.

crank sensor is ok , already tested on another eclipse and its working fine, thanks anyway:cool:
