HELP! my car wont start!

i just had my head off to do my headgasket i put everything back and now it wont start, the engine wont turn over. it cranked like 3 times then stopped. i thought it was the battery, i went and got it tested and it had a 89 percent charge. then i thought it was the starter, so went out and got a brand new starter still not turning over. it makes like a sound and then when i turn the key back it makes like 3 cliking sounds. im not sure if the power steering and alt belts are to tight or maybe the timing belt is to tight. my oil pump sprocket didnt seem like it was timed but i didnt move it, when i took the timing belt off i got it to TDC and the cams alined right and i just took the timing belt off and the little dot on the oil pump sprockrt was not linde up with the metal marker on the left but i didnt tuch it i just put the belt back on the way i took it off but maybe the oil pump sprocket did move alittle bit. i didnt take the cams out/off, i left them the way ther were. i labled everything when i took them off. everything was put back the same way it came off. i really need some help here guys.

Does the engine turn over by hand? Try turning the engine over with a wrench on the crankshaft bolt. If you feel abnormal resistance, don't force it! You may have some valves up against the pistons. If the engine turns over without resistance, then its definitely electrical. Most likely a loose connection or a dirty connection. Hope this helps.

I can turn it by hand no problem. Do you think the knock sensor would have any thing to do with this?

no i don't think the knock sensor like was said earlier check all of your connections. i assume you have checked your fuses. So next i would check the neutral safety switch. that thing causes some hiccups sometimes.

Where would that switch be? By the clutch pedal?

if the oil pump sprocket wasn't timed then you 'd just have minor vibration issues. the only reason there is a timing mark for the oil pump is for the balance shaft. I would check the wiring going to the starter, especially the ground. if the ground isn't perfect then you won't be able to punch enough amps through to turn the engine.

Ok well I'm going to redo my timing and make sure the grounds are good and then I will let you guys know.

Where would the starter relay be?

Hey guys good news I got the car to start. It was the bolt to the starter with the ground wire, it wasn't bolted all the way. Thank you guys for all the help.
