Alright I had aem ems in my 95 tsi with a 6 bolt when I bought the car and I am downgrading the car and decided to put dsmlink in. I put a gm maf in along with a maft and have everything setup with the dsmlink but when I go to start the car the car starts up put won't idle unless i give it gas. The car ran and idled with aem ems installed but now that the eprom ecu is in the car won't idle right. I have a 75mm throttle body and all that is connected to it is a throttle position sensor and another thing on the backside of the tb with no wires going to it...Iam guessing the idle switch or whatever. On dsmlink I set it to simulate the idle sensor so shouldnt the car idle or am I missing something important on the throttle body. Also another question...I have an msd ignition coil and not sure if the wires are in the right firing order because the coil is in the shape of a box. Does a 95 using aem need to switch the wires around or what because I know if you have a 97+ with a 95 eprom you need to switch up the wires?? So basically whats the plug order if i have a 95 with a 6 bolt?

Why would you downgrade to the DSMLINK, if you dont mind me asking. Dont take me wrong, i like my DSMLINK, but is it not AEM standalone suppose to better...

I hope this help, i dont know how would you go with MSD (i assume it is the same as stock). To hook your sparkplug cable with stock coil it goes like this ...

Engine(from left to right) **** coil (from left to right)
1 ********************* 3
2 ********************* 2
3 ********************* 1
4 ********************* 4

Downgrading to dsmlink is not the thing in question here but the problem with the msd coil is it is in the shap of a box so i can't hook it up from left to right....

It was hard for you to answer my simple question, and you expect someone here to help you :beatentodeath:

You probably already checked this, but did you set up your global fuel setting and dead time setting in DSMLink for the injectors you are using?

I didnt answer your question because it has nothing to do with my questions if you want to know you can pm me but I dont want to explain it off topic.....sooooooooo anyways yes i checked the global and dead time settings for my injectors. I can drive the car I just cant get it to idle....hm and if it is a 420a coil pack is that bad or will it not work or something..it drives fine so I dont know what the problem is.

The spark plug wires could be connected incorrectly, causing a change in the firing sequence. I would switch back to a 1g coil pack.
