So i bought a COP setup that came off a 91-94 car, so i looked up the 91-94 wiring diagram and the colors from the diagram do not match the colors from this plug from the harness.

Theres a Black, a Red, and a Red with White Stripe. I know the black is ground, but i need to find out which "Coil" i need to wire the Red and Red w/ White Stripe too for my COP.

Theres the picture of the plug. I just need to know which is which. Im wiring it up to a 90 Plug which is 4 wires (Yellow Tach, Black Ground, Red +, and a White +) and i need to know which of the wires on the 3plug is the same as my Red, and which is the same as my White.

Im assuming the solid red matches the solid red from the 90 coil pack plug, and the red/white would be my solid white? Then yellow for tach and black for ground.

The black wire is the power to the coils. Not the ground. The coils are ground side switched by the power transistor. As far as your set-up goes, You are going to look at the connector in the diagram with the plug facing you and the wires facing away to determine which of the two wires go to coil 1,4 and to coil 2,3.

I highly recommend getting rid of that duct tape, releasing the pins from the B14 connector, and soldering them directly to the wires. The way it is now is just begging for trouble.

Hahaha yeah that is definitely not my method of connecting two wires, i just bought the COP setup and thats how it was. I was going to cut the plug/wires from my 4-wire connector and solder them together then heatshrink over that, then plastic wire loom.

Im not the best at reading those diagrams... Did i have it right previously though? Black - Black. Red - Red and Red/White to the White? For my plug that is.

Also that Diagram was for a 91-94. do you have the 90 diagram?

I apparently ####ing wired it up wrong, cause it backfires on startup, feels like is missing/idling funny, and juts aggravted to hell with this right now.
