Tonight I was on my way home and my car spiked to 10 psi when I have an 8 psi external wastegate. The wastegate didn't open. Anyways, after it spiked to 10 I noticed my car was smoking so I went home and opened the hood up. Oil was all over around my throttle body area. It looks like it was coming out of my little valve cover breather so I had my girl start my car up and I noticed smoke was coming out of it and the same with my oil dipstick. It was smoking out of both of them!!!! What do u guys think happend?? Help PLEASE its my daily driver for work and back THIS SUCKS!!

Do a compression test but it sounds like compression is getting past the rings and shooting oil up the tube and wherever it can go.

sounds like a blown headgasket to me. Compression test is going to tell you a lot though so do that and get back to us.

Blown headgasket isn't really going to make oil come out the intake and dip stick.

Update: k i just got home from work and i did a Compression I have never done a Compression test but i did it when the temp was around 140 and this is what i got

1, 60 2, 90 3, 90 4, 90 tell me what you guys think?!!!

well assuming you did it correctly, and let each cylinder pressureize.

Than I'd say your motor is toast. Sounds like its the block with oil getting passsed the rings.

Usually spiking to 10psi won't do it right away unless its for a prolonged period of time.

I'd have a leak down test performed to find out exactly what happend, weather it be your pistions are bad or just the rings.

start looking for a new block, or plan on rebuilding.

EDIT:

update your mod list, but you might want to consider a FMIC with that turbo of yours.

+1

I blew my motor last year my first night out with my turbo because it ended up spiking 13 or so psi, not even sure how high it hit :notgood: I rebuilt my motor to stock spec, then turned around 500 miles later and got a fully built one :p

EDIT: just got your pm...cracked ringlands FTW IMHO LOL

Looks like you took out either the rings or blew a hole in a piston in cylinder 1. Regarless your going to have to remove the head to check the damage.

Gonna have to pull the head to check the damage. Drain the oil first. That will let you know how much damage you are looking at. Check the coolant as well.

Looks really good, but your gonna have to update that mod list first.

Blue book or go to www.nada.com and see what its worth, Then add about 1/3rd of what you put into it into the price and see if someone will take it.

Looks good though, but first things first. take it apart and find out whats wrong. For all you know its an easy fix, won't cost that much and all you'll be out is your time if you do it yourself.

If it is just one piston that is bad and the cylinder wall looks ok, pull the pan, pull the rod and piston out, rehone it, rering the piston.
