OK. Quick run down, i sold a Tranny that i received when i made a big purchase a couple moths ago. "Tranny came with everything," But i didn't need it because it is a FWD. . Well the person i sold it to , told me that 6 bolt Axles Do not fit because they are to skinny. And 7 bolt axles wont fit because they don't line up right.

A friend told me that it sounds like a 95/96 Tranny, because they are the only ones (Tranny's) that use a different size to line up with the axles. Haven't yet explored this possibility . Could this be true. ?

I'm looking for the wise men here, who know the difference in tranny years.
Could it possibly be from a Gallant? .

* I know i let this guy down, because it's my fault for not knowing this. So Thanks guys for the help, i'm not trying to ruin my reputation with anyone.:nono:

* Guys if you don't know, it's ok . I'm sure someone will help clear it up.

Here is the number on the Tranny. : kf5m332spzt

So it appears that this tranny is a 93, six bolt gst.
Makes sense, they were able to install it in a 1G as you can see in the pic.

Also in that link it says that, that year uses a bigger axle. Which is also the issue at hand.
So with this new info. Does any one know what axles are needed for this tranny ?

*if of course that is, what this is about *

Oh and Thanks For the help you two ^"Above"

Unless the bellhousing has been swapped onto a 1G transmission -- and I'm not even sure that is possible -- it is a 2G FWD turbo transmission based on this number alone. That's why I linked to the page I did, specifically. There is only one transmission code for the 2G FWD turbo manual transmission and F5M332SPZT is it. Also note that transmissions are not typically referred to as 6-bolt and 7-bolt as that is mainly for engine block ID; 1G and 2G will generally suffice.

For reference, these are the 1G FWD turbo transmissions that originally came in our cars: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drivetrain-tech/418144-need-transmition-experts-fun-project-question.html#post152771452

A 2G transmission can be installed in a 1G, so I'm not sure what you're trying to infer here. The opposite, a 1G transmission in a 2G, is what gives people headaches due to the original locations and configurations of the mounts. A 1G has three mounts bolting to the engine and one to the transmission. A 2G has three bolting to the transmission and only one to the engine.

All FWD turbo axles after '92 were "larger". They had 27 splines at the diff rather than 25 for earlier models and AWD cars.

because they are the only ones (Tranny's) that use a different size to line up with the axles
I think all your questions were answered above but please reread this sentence. It's very difficult to help with statements like this. I assumed you meant the splines don't fit which would be correct as stated above. If you try and bolt this into an original 90-92 car the axles won't fit as the ends would be too small with the wrong spline count. If somebody wanted to they could purchase 93-94 axles and bolt it into any 1g FWD car or of course any 2g FWD with no modifications.

So to summarize this is a 2g tranny ? with larger axles because of its year. ? 27 spline vs. 25 ?

..Well i was just informed the tranny has 27 splines , and some one @ a local auto parts store mistakenly sold the axles with only 26 splines ? no clue why or where that even comes from. . so it seems likes things are clearing up. i will post up new info as i get it.
