Hello everyone, obiviously i'm new here and i stumbled on to this site looking for parts for my car. my name is carlos and i have a '92 eagle talon tsi awd. i have a few questions and i hope someone can help me. i've used the search sytem and didnt find anything. anyhoot, here we go. my car has been sitting for 2 years (long story:cry:) and i'm picking it up from texas in february and getting all the parts i need now. now, being that its mad hot in texas how does that affect the oil inside the engine being that the car has not been started at all. i am getting a full tuneup, but will that be enough? should i do a full engine flush? if so how will this affect the turbo? while i'm at it i'm also investing in a cold air intake and exhaust/muffler. i spoke to a mechanic and he stated to me that "He's going to custom make me a cold air intake since no one makes them anymore". i' a little skeptical of this being that i have seen intakes made for my car. i"ve seen several threads on making an iar intake but what are the advantages/disadvantages of having one custom made over a brand name? The last thing is that i was driving one day and heard a "pop" underneath me and engine noise got louder so i think maybe the exhaust disconnected somewhere, nothing has changed performance wise just the noise level, i'm buying a exhuast (not sure which one yet) with a flowmaster super 44 muffler. i'm wondering if anybody is using a combination like this on their car and how its working out as opposed to full exhaust/muffler from 1 company, and is there anything else i need to go along with this. i am not looking to gain huge hp from this (not yet anyway) i just wanna get my car up and running because i have to drive 1500 miles back to ny and the last thing i need is problems on the road, especially if its from a custom made intake. i appologixze if this post is too long but i wanted to be as specific as possible on this issue, and i want to get things done right the first time around. thanks for your time and input.

Welcome aboard,If it has been sitting 2 years without some kind of fuel stabilizer you might have problems with the gas.OMG

Thanks for replying:). now, you say i might have problems with gas, what kind of problems are you talking about?? and how can i fix it??

lots of things could have seazed like starter and altnator your engine. you will only know till you try to start it.

THANK YOU!!! that stuff never even crossed my mind, well thats 2 more things added on to my fix list before my long journey. i appreciate that, thanks.:thumb:

I really appreciate you guys helping me, thank you:thumb: now lets say i do get the car started and running, whats the worse case scenario if i drive it? once i get it started my baby is going straight to the garage to get a full tune up and some other goodies. but i'm starting to think now, with the information you guys are giving me, to just have my car towed to the shop but i would like to weigh my options first. any suggestions?? thanks again

True enough, once again thank you for your input:thumb: i'll know for sure what up with my baby when i get to texas next month, i'm tryin to get as much covered as possible to get my car road worthy to make the 1500 mile trek back to NY... good lookin out:cool:
