Hello everyone, obiviously i'm new here and i stumbled on to this site looking for parts for my car. my name is carlos and i have a '92 eagle talon tsi awd. i have a few questions and i hope someone can help me. i've used the search sytem and didnt find anything. anyhoot, here we go. my car has been sitting for 2 years (long story
) and i'm picking it up from texas in february and getting all the parts i need now. now, being that its mad hot in texas how does that affect the oil inside the engine being that the car has not been started at all. i am getting a full tuneup, but will that be enough? should i do a full engine flush? if so how will this affect the turbo? while i'm at it i'm also investing in a cold air intake and exhaust/muffler. i spoke to a mechanic and he stated to me that "He's going to custom make me a cold air intake since no one makes them anymore". i' a little skeptical of this being that i have seen intakes made for my car. i"ve seen several threads on making an iar intake but what are the advantages/disadvantages of having one custom made over a brand name? The last thing is that i was driving one day and heard a "pop" underneath me and engine noise got louder so i think maybe the exhaust disconnected somewhere, nothing has changed performance wise just the noise level, i'm buying a exhuast (not sure which one yet) with a flowmaster super 44 muffler. i'm wondering if anybody is using a combination like this on their car and how its working out as opposed to full exhaust/muffler from 1 company, and is there anything else i need to go along with this. i am not looking to gain huge hp from this (not yet anyway) i just wanna get my car up and running because i have to drive 1500 miles back to ny and the last thing i need is problems on the road, especially if its from a custom made intake. i appologixze if this post is too long but i wanted to be as specific as possible on this issue, and i want to get things done right the first time around. thanks for your time and input.
