Im running a fp68 hta, magnus street SMIM, built slowboy stage 4 head, and a built bottom end with 8.5:1 compression (i believe). I currently am running fp2 cams but with the head being built and ported and running the SMIM it seems like i should have a cam that keeps making power after 7200 rpm. im currently pushing 38-39 lb/min at 7500 rpm on 22-23psi.

Those FP2s should not be dying by 7,200rpm. They are pretty close to HKS 272s in performance (which have been well proven to 8,000rpm+). Revisit your tune and setup before changing parts. I personally think it's enough cam for your setup.
