So I just got done cleaning up a very big electrical rig that was in the eclipse I bought (1995 nt) and now it wont stay running!
I had the speedometer out and the hvac controls and stereo out and tried to start it but it would crank and run for about 1 second then turn off. If i gave it gas it would run rev and run while I was on the pedal but the second I backed off it shuts down. The car used to have an old remote starter type system (without the remote start) security and such. I removed that aftermarket system and now since then this has happened. Its a 5 speed and also the Key i am using in the ignition is NOT the factory key. It has always worked in the past, just now since the removal of that system it doesn't wanna run. please help I'm stranded and will be up until this is fixed.
I feel that the gas is being cut in one way or another. The old aftermarket security system thing had cut a black wire with a yellow stripe that came from a wire bundle from under the drivers side of the car, this bundle went up into the center console area (with hvac controls and stereo) and then goes what looks like into the engine compartment. I found the other end of the cut black wire with yellow stripe and connected the two (soldered them then heat tubed). Any thoughts or ideas? I had the battery out but that shouldn't of affected anything. there is some rig on the intake manifold with clear tubes running into something made by chrystler that says VAC with an arrow <--- then EGR with an arrow --->. Please anyone with an idea I'm open to anything I will try it I just need this to run so I can get to work tomorrow.
