Got back into the DSM game this week after being out for 5 years. Picked up a project car, a '93 Talon AWD. Biggest problem so far I ran into was a broken bolt on the oil drain line on the turbo. Tried an easy out but it wouldnt budge, so i drilled the bolt out and ran a 6mm tap in it. Well I'm not real happy with the results, if this thing lets go while I'm driving its bye-bye JDM 6 bolt. So I ordered a 6mm Heli-Coil set and will try to fix it that way. Has anyone tried to do this? What materical is the turbo center section made of? cast steel? cast iron? I'm wondering how hard its gonna be to drill. I hate to throw away a perfectly good big 16g.
