I am trying to figure out where to get the oil to feed my turbo from. I am going to post photos and hope for the best. Sorry for the newbie question but I can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for. Also does the last picture look correct? Thank you in advance.

Feed from this port on the head. Plug the port on the front side. The (top) open port on the oil filter housing is for the oil sensor controlling the dummy light in your dash. I cannot tell for sure from the picture whether the middle port is open but it appears plugged and is as it should be.

The last picture isn’t how it came from the factory, if that’s what you’re asking. Someone has looped the lines for the water-cooled oil cooler unit between the oil filter and oil filter housing. Why can’t be determined from the pictures provided.

Does the water pipe have a port coming down into that area? Does the thermostat housing have two feed ports on its front side? If no to these, that would be why they are looped at the cooler.

Thank you so much for the reply!

I looped the lines myself and i was mainly double checking that it will be okay. I plan on oil cooling the big 16G only. I hope that is okay.

Depends on what you are using the car for. Daily driver with a little spirited driving here and there, even a few hard passes at the track, ought to be fine with appropriate cool down before shutting down the engine.

You can buy a shorter oil filter housing fitting and just eliminate the cooler but understand it’s there for a reason. I’d hope everyone lets their cars warm up until driving by this point.

Thank you for the replies gentlmen, this eclipse has lived in my garage for the last 7 years and has not moved under its own power in about 8 years. I plan on driving it from time to time for fun.

I am now in the process of trying to figure out if the engine uses BPST fittings or NPT TO THE ENGINE and to the oil filter housing. for the OFH I AM looking at buying this https://www.extremepsi.com/store/Ex...-Sending-Unit-Kit-NPT-Fittings-to-Engine.html and for the head location to big 16g i am looking at buying this https://www.extremepsi.com/store/Ex...ation-Mitsubishi-Eclipse-1990-1999-Turbo.html

I am also curious what oil pressure sensor to buy to connect to remote oil pressure sensor kit.

The head oil feed port is a straight metric thread.

The oil filter housing, thermostat housing, head (with the turbo oil feed the exception), and block all use BSPT for plugs to oil and coolant passages.

Is it a Mitsubishi 16g or a knock off? The knock offs now are a lot better but still like oil from the filter housing more than the head because of the bearings they use.
