i need help asap!(as in the title)...my daily driven 95 GSX is making a real loud clicking noise. the one pulley on geneator belt (i think) the pully has like 5 or 6 bolts in it its back by the intake manifold. not sure of what its called, but the bolts keep coming out and now i have it on by like 3 original bolts and 2 new ones and ones missing and its clicking unbelieveably loud.

so my 1st question is what is this pulley? and second how do i fix this?

I am going to take a guess that your water pump is bad??? Is it clicking since you put the bolts in? Is the pulley wobleing while the car is running? Take the belt off and see if you can move the pulley . If its all over the place you found your problem.
BTW is the alternator belt not generator and its on the side of the motor not the back. The back is twards the firewall. :p

Tough to tell from the description, but what you describe sounds more like the A/C compressor, since it is between the engine and the firewall, and under the intake. Additionally it does have several bolts on the back side, to retain the pulley to the shaft/A/C clutch assembly.

Please confirm what component the problem is comming from?

I had a buddy of mine come down and check it out (also a dsmer) he said its my AC so if it goes it wont be to bad ill just have to replace my AC unit...which i dont use anyway. but thats more than likely the possiblity ### its not the water pump. i read in my boook and found out where thats located. thanks

Take the belt off if you dont use the AC or take the whole ac unit out alltogether. Its real easy and another way to see where your problem is.

I attemted that today and got the motor mount off and now i cant get any farther...i mean it is 10 pm but i really gotta figure out how to get the belt off...i even considered cutting it because im gonna fix it and a belt cant be to expensive...does it sound like a good idea?

If its like a 1g like im sure it is its real simple. Loosen the bolt holding the idler pulley on the braket and then loosen the tensionser bolt on the braket. The tensioner bolt can go eather way so make sure your loosening the belt not tightneing it. If you cant figure it out than just cut it. That belt only runs the AC so if you dont use it than just get rid of it.
