Im on lakeshore, the motor has a rod knocking i have a 6 bolt motor in a gsx at my dads in helena i was gonna swap in but havent the first clue on where to start with it. Im a mr2 guy so this is a different world to me. I dont have alot of cash but i can pay you in parts, food and beer

I'm more of a hard liqueur guy. Lol. That's cool man. Pulling it is the easy part. Do you have the cherry picker and 10mm-23mm sockets/wrenches with extensions etc?

I'm making a trip up to Precision Motorsports to get some head work done. Maybe by the time I get done with exams I can ride over and pick up my head and lend a hand.

I should have everything needed. Ive got the wiring all off and the drivers side hub assembily off. Cant figure out how too get the axel off. The main concern i know im going to have is the wiring on the 6 bolt. Id almost rather rebuild the 7 bolt that in the car and sell my gsx with the 6 bolt. Any help would great.

You'll have to get the cam angle sensor pigtail that you wire into your 2g harness. I believe that runs about $75. Also, more than likely you'll have to grind some motor mounts so she'll slip in. Other than that, you should be fine.

A local shop(friend) said he would rebuild the 7 bolt for 400$ plus parts i think thats a better route for me and just sell the gsx with the 6 bolt in it. If you know anyone looking for a kinda nice 98 gsx let me know, ill make them a awsome deal. So i can get my gst on the road.

My local hero shop is gonna do a full rebuild for 400+parts and i gotta fix his camera system at the shop. Cant beat that. Thanks for your offer to help though. Ill give you a shout when i get it running. Maybe ride to a show or race sometime. Id like to get into the dsms alittle more

Your giving up awd for fwd? That's a first. The 6bolt swap is easy you have to wire 4 wires in. Google the rre or Magnus write up and you'll see what I'm talking about, but like I said its not bad at all.

I know its a first but the gsx is in rough shape and the gst is very clean. Im just using the gst as a daily driver. I have another project mr2 im working on. Thats the reason for letting the awd go and keeping the fwd
