Hello friends ! I need some help here. Sorry for the lack of knowledge in this part...

First of all, here's what I have in my car

Eclipse GS-T 95 M/T
- Injen Intake Pipe
- K&N FIPK filter
- Dejon IC pipes (SMIC)
- Autometer Boost Gauge
- Rewired Fuel Pump
- Stock Clutch
- Stock Turbo
- Stock Exhaust
- AEM Wideband (purchased, will install in 3 weeks)

I don't know how to explain that, but I'll try

In 1st gear my car pull very good, but as I advance the gears (2nd, 3rd), my car starts to go slower as if it is losing power. I can hear the turbo sucking air, my turbo gauge reads constant PSI (13 PSI).

What could be causing this ?

It could be a tuning problem, but I don't have any change in Injectors, Fuel Pump, and that stuff... Also I will install a Wideband in 3 weeks to check the mix.

If it where the clutch, shouldn't it be bad on the 1st Gear also ?

Sorry for the generic explanation, but someone could have had the same problem.

Thanks :thumb:

There are several factors which can cause a lack of power in a vehicle, especially in ours. These range from inadequate fuel/air mixtures to engine degradation and the more commonly detailed "Knock". Before we can even begin to analyze your situation or what would be causing this 'loss of power', we need to know what your AFRS are and if you have found a way or have a way to compensate for power - IE a tuning Solution.

Do some basic things, by the way. Plugs, Gap, Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Spark Plug Wires, and a boost leak test.

I had a recent problem like this
my car would start lagging after first gear and the faster I went the wors it was
I tried everything
and when I sat down and thought about it I replaced the fuel filter and never had a problem after
I had used an enzime fuel treatment that cleaned out my fuel tank but clogged my fuel filter
I went through three filters befor it worked thats why it took me forever to fix it

sounds fuel related to me if you dont hear any grinds/knocks or dont have any 'bumps' while accelerating. If you do, do a boost leak check.

Plugs: BPR6ES gapped @.028- .032 do not use anything else. If youve got those "fancy" iridiums or platinums in there, trash them right away and get the above mentioned plugs in there.

Verify that the plug wires are good; no oil on them, plugged in tight at the coil and on the plugs, and if you dont know when they were last replaced, get new ones.

Do a boost leak test right away.:thumb:

In your case, after you do a boost leak test and fix any intake tract leaks, Id look into the wires and plugs immediately, because your loss of power is symptomatic of a weak ignition system, which tends to manifest itself under higher engine loads- ergo your loss of power in the later gears where higher engine loads are present...
