I have a 97 Eagle Talon TSi w turbo and had the timing belt snap a month ago. I saw this as a time to rebuild the engine as it had about 130,000 miles on it (and the pistons got dished out pretty bad by the valves). So I did the stock rebuild and it ran fine for the first 20 miles. Then one of the heater hose clips snapped off and leaked out all the coolant. I noticed the increase in engine temp and got it home asap. I got all new hose clamps and filled the radiator with coolant and it started and ran fine. Took it around the block and it started overheating again (forgot to burp it). It barely overheated before I turned it off. I let it cool and then added coolant to the engine and was about to burp it and it won't start.
It sounded like it had good compression and I tested all the spark plugs for good spark. I then notice that all the spark plugs are wet with fuel and I can see a puddle of fuel in every cylinder. I don't know why they are flooding! I'm getting not engine codes from it but when I turn over the best I get is one or two pops from different cylinders then nothing no mater how long i crank it.
I tried drying out the plugs with an oven and blowing out the gas in each cylinder with compressed air. I consider myself pretty mechanically handy but I am stumped. I have been working on the car for over a month now and I'm running out of ideas. All the fuel injectors have 3 ohms of resistance and I would check the fuel pressure if I could find a place to hook up my gauge... (maybe fuel pressure regulator)
Sry the long post. Any help of Ideas would be greatly appreciated. I just got the car and I really want to get her up and going.
