Checked the fuse and it's good and when I swicth fan to the highest position I can hear a slight click coming from behind the dash. I was working in back of the dash and may have bumped the switch so maybe it just needs to be plugged back in?? Just thought of that while typing this so I'll go check that 1st. Otherwise idk so any thoughts are welcome.

have you checked the relay??
what i would do is take the blower motor out and just run 12v of power to it ans see if it even works, it could just be blown,
you may just need a new one
or luike i said could also just be a relay
hope this helps

Where is the relay? What is the best way to get at the blower motor to take it out -OR- could I run a 12v source directly to blower motor without even removing it to check it?

I read through that thread and it was very helpful but have a few questions.

Where exactly is the blower motor in relation to the ECU and can I hook-up a 12v source to it directly without removing it and how? Is the switch seperate from the motor? Is the blower motor and switch hard to remove from the car?

Btw checked both fuses and they're good and although fan does not work I can hear a click when fan is turned to the highest position. Perhaps that info will help troubleshoot this.

Well I pulled the blower motor and it's definately good and did a test on the relay and it opens/closes when 12v is applied but not sure what the correct procedure is for that test though

When I turn the fan speed selector switch to the highest position the relay clicks once. Also replaced both fuses so any help is apprecaited.

Just realized I need to check the resistor and if it's not that it's got to be the main switch on the dash so I'll update when done.

or, the plug from the wire harness that goes to the back of the switch has a loose ground connection - even vibration can shake sockets off their respective connection.

Sometimes just little push on the connections can get things back in order.

Bringing this old thread back because I've got heater/ac fan issues and still confused about a couple things.

My blower motor doesn't work when turning the fan switch on and so far I've determined the motor is good and relay clicks when turned to highest position. I also applied 12v directly to relay and it opens or closes (not sure which) but not sure of correct procedure for testing relay either.

From reading through this thread I'm not sure whether all that means that the resistor IS the problem or IS NOT the problem because of conflicting statements made earlier by members. If I remove the resistor and replace with a jumper wire SHOULD the blower motor turn on ASSUMING the resistor is bad and fan switch is good?

Anyhow it looks like I got the problem narrowed down to either the fan switch -or- resistor since both fuses are good. BTW, are there any other fuses to check other than the 2 in the main junction block in the drivers side footwell?
