Lukewarm heat at best! Powerflushed system three times. Heat box open/close no defects. Any suggestions or is a heater core replacement in the cards? (92 AWD GSX Turbo)
 
What is the engine coolant doing....does it get hot or do you have a stuck throttle body or water pump going out?

Check the temp on the dash. Then check the temp of the top radiator hose. Then the bottom hose. then the 2 lines going to the heater (they are on the firewall at the back of your engine bay). You might have another cooling system problem that you are just noticing through the heater.

Does your car have the outside air vents? if so try turning the heat to defrost or running it while sitting still does it get hot then?

Pull the return line off the heater core under the hood....does hot water come spewing out of the heater when you start the car? it might just be a clog in one of the rubber hoses.
 
Good sound advice. I am getting the water into the core without restriction. Just not blowing hot enough. Luke warm at best. If you keep it on long enough even lukewarm air gets to you though. If the consensus is the core, does anyone have any shortcut tips. The by the book method take hours. Many many hours!
 
Anyone with experience on the heater core swap. I'd be interested in shortcuts and elapsed time to completion!
 
Back in Normal, at the very beginning of the production line, there is 1 wire hanging down. An autoworker attaches the heater core to this wire, and as it proceeds down the line, the rest of the parts of the car are assembled around it.

Removal is a simple reversing of these steps.
