So today in indiana we have snow and its cold. turn on the heat and only had heat while the rpms were up.so check everything i could popped the coolant cap behold oil :banghead:

so with me xp with cars that is blowin or going out head gasket right? and get this weird smell in the cab not like burnin oil or coolant. and its only after hard pulls. kinda weird i maybe over lookin something.:barf:

since now i am going to have to replace that "head gasket" any good top end gaskets for these motors?

and are there any short cuts, or anything i should check or replace while i am in the head?

Do 2g's use the same oil cooler mechanism that 1g's do? If so I have heard of these getting crushed due to over tightened oil filters, that will cause oil in your coolant and vise versa. Might be a good idea to have the head checked, make sure it isn't warped. Use a mitsubishi gasket, while you have the head off replace the head studs with some ARP do the timing belt, pulley's, balance shaft belt (or elimination), water pump, and thermostat, that should keep you safe for another 60k. No real shortcuts just follow the whatever is on VFAQ and in your service manual and you will be fine.
