I have read on my car, 1993 eclipse non turbo 2.0, that the spark plug gap is. 044
But the guy at the auto parts store says its .026 which is a huge difference.

Not the best place to get advice so I decided to ask y'all experts. Which is correct? Also my car has been running a little rich so could I possible close up the gap a couple thousands to help that or is that a bad idea?

The people at the auto parts store always say .032 on a turbo motor..Most of the people around here run .030 or less..

Now on the n/t motors you need a bigger gap..I would just go .040 and call it a day..

ALLDATA specifies gap of .028-.031 for a turbo 4g63.

It does..Well the parts stores really need alldata then..My car ran much better on smaller than the .032 gap they told me to do years ago..

I just get the platinum +4's. They are gapless and their beast. I saw my MPG go up a couple two. I was surprised it went up that much.

OMFG, do not get these, stick with the tried and true NGK BPR6ES's. Bosch is garbage in these cars.

Well my parts store didn't have NGK's. So I got the platinums for the mean time while I'm waiting to accumulate some money. And I talked to my dad about it and he said their fine for the 420. Because i heard someone ask the same question before I bought them.

FearlessNick, you probably have good luck with plantinums because you have the 420a. For 4G63s, use copper NGKs.
