Hey, i have a 90 tsi with 140K+ on the engine and my car is starting to feel like it's wanting to lose power upwards of 6000rpms. Based on the symptoms, i almost feel like maybe it's that my cams have worn down a bit. I haven't checked em out yet and I will soon, but here's my question: I've heard that different years have used different sized cams, is this true? and if it turns out my cams are worn getting too worn, and if i could get my hands on a different years cams, what would be a good year to get used ones for?

One thing that I am sure of is that the automatic transmission turbo 1st generation dsms used
smaller cams along with smaller 390cc fuel injectors. Maybe this is what you were thinking of?

the 90 cams are different from the 91's, however, when i fuct my 90 head up and threw my 91 head on i didnt notice any difference. as for 92-99 i have no clue. doubt that helps ya
