I have a 95 gst and it has a newer bumper cover and newer, projector style lights. What I would like is for it all to line up correctly. The bumper cover sticks out in the middle. I don't know if the headlamps are wrong (skinnier) or the bumper cover is wrong (too wide?). Any ideas or solutions to this? I trimmed the bumper cover by the lights because I thought it was restricted from setting in under the lights. Now it has room but looks kind of goofy.

pictures help . Typical problem with fitment are as follows : 2gb bumper with 2ga headlights or vice vers , front mount touching bumper ( need to shave alittle off the backside in the middle , poor fitment periond ( I.e) holes not exactly right and what not .

Pics would definitely help, but it's probably because one is a 2ga and the other is a 2gb.

I know these pics aren't the best, but it's all I have right now. You can see where I trimmed the cover to try to get it to go back further. And you can see the gap from cover to the hood. Can you tell if I need new cover or new headlamps?

Yeah i did the swap on my 1996. I swapped out my front bumper for a 1999 model. I noticed my 1996 lights didn't fit properly with my new bumper. It made the center stick out between the headlights and it was pressing on the inner portion of my lights as well. I either had to trim each inner corner of my new bumber or get 97-99 headlights. I ended up getting 97-99 headlights and fit like a glove "PERFECT". Pictures would help so much more. Post some pics so we tell you for sure. You may have 95-96 projector lights and that's why it might be fitting funny. Just my two cents:thumb:

From your pictures it seems that you have 95-96 projector headlights. Those won't fit correctly with the 97-99 Bumper. To fit perfect you need to get 97-99 headlights. If you want to stay with those headlights you either need to go back to 95-96 front bumper or rig it by getting a 97-99 bumper and shave or trim the inner portion of the corners where the bumper rubs against your 95-96 projector lights.

What exactly is it that you want the 97-99 look?

I'm actually just looking for a "normal look". I just got this car, maybe a month a go, and this is how it was. I think I should just get the correct bumper cover and I would be ok. Any ideas where to get a early model bumper cover at a reasonable price that will fit a FMIC? I think that's why the previous owner changed it.

well if it is indeed true you have 2ga headlights and a 2gb bumper I think the 2gb headlights will help . But if oyu just want a new cover look into just getting one out of a part out that way you know it is right for fitment you will ahveto sand prime and paint it but atleast you know it will fit right . FMIC wise any bumper can fit an FMIC some require some fabbing , usually simble shaving or sanding down the back side slightly .

actually the previosu owner probably changedi t because more people prefer the 2gb bumper

Honestly that probably would be your best bet get a 95-96 front bumper now if you have a big FMIC then all you have to do is trim the inner lower panel. To do this is fairly easy. I would recommend going to your local junk yard to get a oem front bumper because it's alot more accurate. If not look in dsmtuners classified section for front bumpers, also check with craigslist if not theres always ebay :D Hope this helps.
