Other than the looks and mabey a bit of flow the stock is prob just as good. The manifold most likely will crack at some point.

thats why im looking for a set of headers for a cheap price because my stock manifold has a huge crack in it im also looking into buying this exhaust system off ebay 95-99 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE 420A NT 2.5" CATBACK EXHAUST - eBay (item 230595844111 end time Mar-17-11 19:44:47 PDT)

Those will work fine. You likely won't have any issues with cracking, the EGT's aren't as hot as a turbo'd car. I do like the flange on that header/down pipe combo...looks good to me!

I ran the ebay header/down pipe combo for over a year with no issues. I also have a similar catback, and fitment was spot on. I'm very happy with the exhaust.

and then what do you guys think about the ebay exhaust system i posted the link for .im just trying to get a cheap exhaust system and build up my car cheap

As long as you dont expect huge gains it's fine.

If you want to get the most gains, rip the cat out too.

Like Avenged said, don't expect much...but it's the best you can do! Remember though, the car will sound quite different without a cat.

i think ill get it on first and take the silencer out and see what it sounds like and i cant find any vids of a nt without a cat on it

That sounds VERY nice.



I did a full exhaust system, header back. I seriously felt very little difference.

yea i know what you mean ..im gonna use this as my daily and just put a full ebay exhaust on it a set of wheels and a sound system in it and save up for a 2g tsi awd

for a 420a what style headers would you guys recommend 4-1 or 4-2-1 style.. which header would make more sense to get or seem more useful? i wanan see the most gains from 0-60

your best out look for headers is a 4-2-1. It gives you move over all power throw the RPM range. If you do a search it has been cover a lot on the advantages of both. Ive ran a 4-2-1 and the 4-1 I like the 4-1 better when you get up to about 3700 I fell a harder pull. The 4-2-1 I felt more over all speed increase (can't think how to put it) but over all it fells about the same imo. Also ebay headers are fine to run Ive had a 20$ header set on my car for over 30,000 miles now and the only change thing that has changed is the color (it was chrome now it is like a really cool looking tri-color check my profile for pics).
