Head work

Ok so as i posted before my timing belt had came off when the car was sitting in my driveway at an idle. I have not checked compression yet because the timing belt is stuck in the timing cover so i have to take everything apart.
If i find out that there are bent valves i want to rebuild the head but i want to put some aftermarket cams,valves,springs,valve stems. Does anybody know the cheapest way to do this should i buy a used head that is in good cond. Im not sure im only look to spend 300 or so in the cams and the rest im not sure.

Also do u know of a machine shop in the chicago are besides ams.

If i build a race head what else will i have to do to the car im not sure im new to the dsm mods so any help would greatly be appreciated.

DSM graveyard sells i believe in house, 264 and 272 cams. They also sell springs and all the other hardware you would want. They are located in Kalamazoo MI. So they are not to far away.

Aslong as your block is solid, you could build your head and do your timing belt, front cover and oil pump. While your at it do balance shaft elimination. Extreme PSI sells the belt and elimination kit all in one.
