I have heard something about the 2g heads are barely better than the 1g. I am switching over to a 1g head and doing tons of head work to it, and was going to get it ported. I took it to the machine shop and he told me it wasn't worth porting the 1g head. All he is going to do is just make the ports match the magnus motorsports sheet metal intake manifold on it (the ports on the intake manifold slightly larger). The guy there also told me he would smooth the valve openings for me saying that would help. I am using the 1mm+ valves and springs..... things like that. If you have any more ?s just PM me. On building the bottom end, you don't need to if that is the highest horsepower you want out of the car. Cams will help in higher rpms.

that has nothing to do with my question about porting the head.
i know about the Hp guide. but tell me where it has anything to do with porting heads.

Just save your money keep the 1g head and have them clean up around the valve openings. If you are putting a sheet metal intake manifold, buy the manifold first. Then have them match the intake ports to the intake manifold. The ports do not need to be ported all the way through, it will be a waste of money too.
