head work

im going to be getting some head work done, new valves, seals, all that stuff. Should i get a 1g intake manifold or keep my 2g and get it ported?
i have a 60mm throttle body.
also when i do get this head work done, should i get new cams and gears.
i want to be around 350 for horsepower.

keep the 2g intake as the 1g has ports that are way too big for the stock head, unless you will be port maching the head(a lot of work), just clean up the stock 2g mani. Cams will give you more top-end. I have hks 272/272 and they work great..

for 350 hp you dont need cams, head work, or a new intake manifold....and rather than get your current head ported, i would just switch to a 1g head and 1g intake manifold, since that would add more power than porting your current head... also if your not going to do the head work, since its not needed for 350 hp, make sure you bore out your current intake manifold so that the throttle body and the manifold are flush, no point in having a 60mm throttle body if your just going to bottleneck it down to 57mm right afterwards...

since the 1g head had bigger bolts, does anything nees to be done to my 7 bolt block.

Just use 7-bolt headstuds. The guide pins on the block will hold the head in place.

ok lets say i do go with the 1g head, can i use my 2g cams, camgears, on the 1g head?
also what else do i need to do when putting on the 1g head onto my 7 bolt, or is it a direct bolt on.

There is an article about this ar roadraceengineering.com.... but you will need stuff like the 1g water pipe, thermostat housing, knock sensor... you will have to fab up some brackets for the coil pack and igniter module, etc..... it shouldnt be too hard.. just follow the directions on RRE you should be alright...
