Head Porting Questions

That's the exhaust side, you might want to pay more attention to the intake side first.

ps I would look into a reputable shop to do the porting for you........it doesn't take much to ruin a good head.

You should bring it to a reputable shop that's 'reasonable' on there price (depends on how big you really want to go.. By your pic its decent) and just have them hog out the whole head.. I mean thats only on your exhaust side from the looks.. Like posted above.. You should worry about your intake more.. But IMO you should just do the whole thing at once... It'll be more benifical in the end

Dont touch the exhaust side except to remove any boogers/casting marks from the runners.

Well, it depends on what he wants to do. For a street car, just remove the little 'step' on the exhaust side (on the other side of the valve seats) Just take the valves out, and feel around, you will see what I am talking about. The intake side has the same little obstruction. If you are planning on going with a high revving, T4 style turbo equipped monster, then port the exhaust to match however big the runners on the manifold are. (or a little bit smaller to prevent turbulence)
