Okay here is my problem. I blew a head gasket about a month ago. Or so i thought. I had a slimy, yellowish, lotion like substance in my cooling system. I've never seen anything like it before. I pulled my head off and replaced the gasket. The head was resurfaced and i sanded the block and got it perfectly smooth. I cleaned out my radiator, upper and lower radiator hoses, the head and as much as i could suck out of the block with a shop vac. I threw it all back together and torqued the head to 100ft/lbs in sequence using a 3 step process. I flushed the cooling system once with distilled water with heat on high. I let the temp get up to normal operating temp for about 5 mins and shut it off. I drained the radiator and took the valve cover off and retorqued my arps in sequence to 105ft/lbs. Everything was fine and dandy. Just the other day i looked at my coolant and there's oil in it again. I haven't had any overheating issues and i'm losing a small amount of oil, but my car also leaks a little oil. So it's hard to tell if that oil(slimy lotion like substance) was left in the cooling system when i replaced the gasket or if my oil is indeed going into my coolant. My oil is clean. The car smokes a little bit when its cold, but i run e85 and a byproduct of burning ethanol is water.

So here's my point. What do you guys suggest i do? Where do you think this oil is coming from? Has anyone ever had a Cometic HG just fail on them for no reason and not seal?
Any suggestions are much appreciated and thanks in advance!!

I thought about that too. But i have a GT3076R that has no more than ###### 1500 miles on it

If you had oil contamination in your cooling system, you need to do a proper flush as even when well drained, there will be residual oil in the cooling passages of the block, heater core, radiator and all the rubber lines :dsm:

You sanded the block? With what? Generally any machinist will tell you that sanding the block or head by yourself without using a proper resurfacing machine is a HUGE no no. Doing so will cause your block to have uneven spots on the block which could cause a bad seal between your head and block. Generally you would see the symptoms of a blown head gasket but you do not so most likely it is leftover oil and you should do a complete flush. Just remember next time sanding it down by yourself is a big no no.
