I am regrettably having to have to pull apart my lower end 1000 miles after my complete rebuild because of a spun rod bearing. But I figured since I was going to be doing that and everything has to come off anyways...I figured that I would buy the ARP head studs and a new head gasket. Now I am confused as to what HG would be appropriate for me and my car.

1991 Eagle Talon Tsi
After stage 0 mods....
Planned power adders...
cold air intake
big 16g turbo
HICP upper and lower
eventual FMI
2.5 turbo back exhaust
MBC and gauge
walbro pump 255 rewired

If there is anything else I should consider please tell me.

My Goals are to be able to reach inbetween 300-340 to the wheels. I don't know where I should spend my money on the HG. I have looked at the standard replacements for the
4G63 6bolt engine. I have also seen the 4 metal layered head gasket. Different brands and different thicknesses. I would imagine a little thicker couldn't hurt. But which is better? what do you other DSMers use and have had great sucess with? Anything you guys...or gals out there could help me out with...I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!

the different thickness plays a role with compression from what i understand. I use a multi layered steel. steer clear of graphite in my opinion

I personally use cometic mls and have never had any problems. With your goals, I woulde just use a mitsu mls gasket. Even a stock mitsu composite gasket will easily get you to your goals but are not as forgiving as an mls when the tune is off.

I currently have a 1GA Talon with Mitsubishi Multi Layer Head Gasket, and use ARP Head Studs. I actually work at as a Mitsubishi parts counterperson and will get you the part number for it when I go into work tomorrow. And just so you know, you can also order the multi-layer exhaust gasket, and JDM Evo III 02 housing, housing gasket, and exhaust manifold. They are located at our Los Angeles warehouse, but any Mitsubishi parts department can order the part. I'll post up again tomorrow.

Well also what amount of boost can the mitsu ML HG take? Can it take the full amount of boost that a big 16g turbo can produce? and i was looking at getting just a tubular exhaust manifold.whats the benifits of the evo III set up? so is the metal layer head gaskets better than then original material gaskets?
