ok... this is probably a dumb question, but here it goes... I am re-ringing my motor and the head is off... I measured each head bolt with a micrometer and there is no stretch... they are all the same size... Can I reuse these, or do I HAVE to get new head bolts?

well.. my rebuilt kit is going to be here tomorrow... im going to my buddies house right now to finish taking the motor apart and cleaning it so I can install everything tomorrow... Im taking pics from this point forward... it should be done soon... I will let youse guyses know

OK, good choice on ARP's. You're one of the few new guys that actually take advice when its given. Anyway, when torqueing your new ARP's , remember to ONLY use ARP moly lube and torque them in even steps. I usually do 20-45-72 ft/lb or something of the like. DO NOT torque it to spec from the get go. Also, make sure you torque in the right sequence (inside out) so that you get the proper even clamping force.

Also, when installing your ARP headstuds, FINGER tighten the studs onto the block first and then use an allen wrench to tighten another 1/4 turn or so. There is no need to tighten the actual stud down before installing the head with the washers and nuts.

I'm not gonna reuse my head bolts but what is the max length for them?

PS I've done about 10 searches and haven't found the length listed here. Its probably cause it really isn't important due to the fact that ARP studs are pretty much the only way to go. I was just curious.
