i have a 92 eagle talon tsi all wheel drive. im having a air fuel problem. kinda short on cash now when i start the car the stock boost gauge(over dignified mas) reads around 7 psi. which is dumping fuel down my cars throat at idle. what should i check and how should i go about this. boost leak was flawless. And could there be anything else i could test out with out going willy nilly on parts. thanks everyoneee.Deffinittely the best place for dsm lovers hahahaha

Buy and Chiltons/Haynes manual and go to town checking electrical equipment with a analog volt/ohmeter. My first guess would definitely be your maf, second would be your ecu. Have you checked it for leaky caps yet? When did this start happening? How's your o2 sensor?

Get a manual, it makes life much easier.

ok going to try to answer these in order. the idle seems like its trying to about a grand. And number 2 i have a book just replaced the tcu the o2 and ignition module. yea why im strapped for cash LOL. we took it too master tech thats how i found out about the o2 and the ignition. whats maf sstand for im feeling stuiped tonight LOL

He's referring to the Mass Air Flow sensor. It's located inside the intake filter. If you look on the intake tube you'll see that there is an electrical connection there, that is the MAF.

so im just going to say exactly what it used to do. start up. stock gauge reads 7psi roughly at about a 750-500 sounds like its running on 2 cylinders. it used to warm up and run somewhat properly. after the o2 was changed its gotten worse. sorry if its confusing im confused as hell about it to

Is it 7psi or -7? There is both PSI and Hg on a turbocharged car. Hg is inches of mercury which is also known as vacuum. If it's 7Hg then it might be ok. Since you don't have a proper gauge you can't be sure. But if it is 7psi then there's definitely a problem. You should definitely test the MAF though.

You mentioned your BLT was "flawless" but what PSI did you reach and how long did it take to drop back to 0? And how do you know that it is dumping fuel at idle? Did you confirm with a logger?

huge clouds of grey- blackish smoke, can taste the fuel. the guage reads 7 positive at idle. the boost leak test was probaly around 15 to 20 seconds, car was cold then it was done. i dont have a logger or any other diagnioses tools at my disposal. but its gotta be a mechanical problem since there is no cel. i did find what looked like oil in the intake pipe right behind the air canister. i dont know if that helps. thanks for everyone who answered me back.

ok hopefully someone will answer this question. i think its my ecu now say if i unplugged the tps and the mas and turn the key not start mind you should my engine light stay on???? im pretty sure its supposed to LOL hit me back:hellyeah:

No, engine light only turns on when a sensor is missing, out of place, bad, but as for the mas being unplugged, it will not stay on, your car will just idle like crap.
Are you recirculating your bov ? Have you tried the above recommendation of cleaning your mas ? Is your mas honeycombs hacked ?

ok heres the issue now i think my ecu is fried now my question remains as i unplugged both sensors to see if the light would stay on. my car only rolls over. does not start. so thats why i was wondering if those were unplugged would it render the check engine light???cause my car does not even though the two are unplugged

If it is not starting over it sounds like you flooded the spark plugs. Take them out and smell them for gas.
Having bad spark plugs can also contribute to your fuel not being burned efficiently.

so if you would thats all i need to know. wether the codes register before crank or after im pretty sure its before but please can help me out

What do you mean register before crank ? If you are talking about being able to check for engine codes without having to start the car then yes, you could check for them this way with the keys set to the on position.

will the engine light stay on???? thats what im wondering right now the cars outside and its raining like a mother. so with the keys in the on position will the engine light stay on??? or am i going to have to test for codes cause my engine light comes on like its supposed to then shuts off like normal
