Autozone said Midwest transmission center Inc sells a reman transmission for my car 97 eclipse gsx manual. I clicked the link to the transmission on their site https://shop.midwesttrans.com/item/MTMIT203/90-UP-LASER-ECLIPSE-W5M33-AWD/
And I know that there's 3 variations in the transmission so I called them and asked about this since it's listed 90 and up. They said just tell them the year and they'll build it for that variation. What do you guys think team rip said I should be weary about it. Just wondering if anyone used Midwest transmission inc

That will be the quickest wam bam rebuild possible. It will not have any of the durability upgrades dsm trans specialists usually do. It's going to be built with aftermarket parts, and it costs what a good rebuild from a DSM shop costs. I just sold a 2g trans outright that was as fully built as you can get using mitsubishi gears and it was $4k.

I have not. I have been around long enough to know if TRE, TMZ, Whiteshedspeed ect, say to be weary to listen. We have over the year's rebuilt some stock transmissions before.

Though the tran's in my own car is a old shep unit. My buddy who has rebuilt stock before has a TRE trans. This shows that even though we know enough to refresh something we also know we do not know enough to assume how to make a modified unit. So much of it is clearances and specs and when the main guys say to be cautious. Listen.

Yeah believe it was Team RIP that told me that some of the parts for the trans are hard to get but could rebuild it.

I haven't bought the car yet but it's a 2gb and it's priced around 5k. Just wondering if Team RIP cracks the transmission open and find out there's parts they don't have to fully rebuild it if the Midwest Transmission Center would be a good backup option as I'd rather get it build by TRE. TMZ believe they told me they're backed up for 6 months. I just don't want to buy the car then have it sitting forever because I can't get a transmission for it.
