I was wondering, becasue I know a lot of people with Wrx's have baked their headlights to get the orange reflective pieces out and the lights look amazing afterward. So I was wondering if anyones baked their 2g headlights to get the orange/amber piece out, or even to re-seal it after leaking problems. Thanks

Yeah you put it in the oven for a little bit, then take it a part. Now you can clean them or whatever. When done put back in oven to reheat old sealant, add new sealant, push together.........Voila!!!

And thats all there is to it? Have you done it?

I "baked" my 1Gb Talon headlights and corners when I had it. I miss that car. But I blacked out the housings and the housings on my clear corners. Looked badass. I didn't use any new silicone/adheasive. I just baked it again and put it back together. I never had any leaking or moisture problems. I made a Tech Article Write up for it. There is also alot other Tech Articles. So check them out.

yeh i did it its really just that simple look in my gallery at pics when i had the talon front and youll see where i did it and removed the amber corner and painted the housings black

just don't add butter, sour cream, pepper and salt to it when your done baking it!

seriously look at the tech article... just don'y clsoe the door and for get the headlights are in there. like microwave popcorn you have to keep checking to see if its "done" not done or it will scorch/melt.

I did it too. Very easy. You can take the orange out of your headlights when you do it too. The Angel Eyes are thanks to Shuwa29. Want more info run a search. It was a HUGE topic last year

mmmm that sounds good, all i need now is a Corona

say what? i can hoenstly asy i never heard of baking a head or tail light before  you said take the orange out of the headlight, well then when you turn on your turn signals.. is it just a white light? or.. ?

Well taking the orange piece out leaves it clear, so you can put whatever color turn signal bulbs in without the orange interfering with the color. I put blue turn signal bulbs in and with the orange, the light came out green. I have the hyper white bulbs in and now I can get hyper white turn signals to match. Get it?

I'm sure if you want it to stay legal, you'd have to replace the bulbs with orange ones. But a lot of people like the looks of white lights.

anyone ever done this with the altezza tail lights? and cover up the little red circles and paint the chrome in the inside the color of the car? I think that would be awesome. someone post some pics or PS a pic of that. :)

---or---

instead of painting the housings in the inside black do that the same color as the car. what would this look like. sounds like it might look good. also some pics would be cool. ;)

Mine also have the amber removed. Now if I could only spend the money on a set of clear corners....

(check sig)

Ok the headlight I took off, was from a 99 Gs. Im finding its harder to take the lights out of a Gs-T, anyone have any helpful hints?

i want to do this but when i ran a search i found out it's kinda hard to get the last bolt out to remove the headlights, anyone got any advice or tips for reaching it?
