Its not that its hard to reach, but I used a small mirror, and instead of being 6 sided like the others, its square shaped.

i used a socket with and extension with a sviwel at the end. on the swivel put tape around it so it stays bent in one position. also its a #4 bolt found in many other places on the car i believe its 10mm. i know its the same size as the one on the top of the headlight

i want to do this but when i ran a search i found out it's kinda hard to get the last bolt out to remove the headlights, anyone got any advice or tips for reaching it?

You could just break that mount off. Thats what I did. Just be careful, you dont want to crack the housing, just the mount.

or instead of breaking the headlight you can tear the bumper by giving it a sharp tug. the part that goes under the headlight should pull out like notebook paper...

then you can slide the remainder of the tab back in and it will still fit like stock and not loose the bracket for the headlights.

I cut off the plastic tab holding it in with a little barn saw, but looking back I don't remember how I got it in there.

I'll post some if I can ever get a square socket head to get the lights off.

i borke my headlights out. one just broke the plastic tab that had the screw in it, the other shattered the whole top of the housing, it will still work, but it might leak when i put it back together.

is it hard really to take out the headlights? like do you have to drop the bumper to reach any screws? my friend has to do that with his GTI, had to drop the whole bumper just to get his headlights out, and he did the same thing, baked them painted them black. but then a month later just bought projectors LOL.

Can you do this on a 1g Eclipse? I'm not interested in the taking the orange out cuz I have none in my headlight only in corners, I'll just buy clears for those. I'm wondering if you can take apart the 1g headlight and paint the chrome inside whatever color I want. I'm thinking that would look awesome in red on my car!!

I'm sure if you want it to stay legal, you'd have to replace the bulbs with orange ones. But a lot of people like the looks of white lights.

Check with your local gov. Here is MI it's legal to have amber/white in the front and amber or red in the back.
