hard to get in gear some times

i have a 90 tsi with all the basic mods...it started off shifting fine but lately its been randomly a little hard to get in 1st gear or second...it comes and goes...could this be old trans fluid? if its is ### fluid would you guys recommend

what kind of clutch are you using?

See if your clutch is still good. Try to get a roll from third. Sounds like it might be your fluid though. Look up the "####-tail" mix. Its redline MT-90 and MTL. I forgot how much of each, but most of the vendors here know what it is anyway.

Check the clutch pedal for worn bushing. Also i have had that problem before that kinda went in and out, sometimes hard and sometimes easy to shift. Just so happens my whole transmission was backing off the motor...

Check the fluid and adjust the pedal and see if it continues, if the fluid is fine and the problem continues or comes back then the slave might be going bad.
