Can i reuse my block if the pistons have slight dents from the valves? I had zero compression so i pulled the head and everyone of my intake valves were bent. The rest looks good but just a slight dent from the valves, all 8 of the intake ones. Thanks for your help.

Are you sure those are dents and not the valve reliefs that are cut from the factory? The block's fine, if the pistons are actually damaged though I'd replace them. Some people will tell you you can run them, that's your choice.

If i can run them i am just going to buy a new head and bolt it on and redo the timing and finally have my first dsm. Run it till it breaks and rebuild it again.

Here's a pic of the piston tops (2G turbo on left, 1G turbo on right). The "dents" are the valve reliefs Absit was referring to. You will note there is a relief on the exhaust side as well, but they are comparatively smaller. If yours don't show any sign of damage (anything other than what is in the picture might be considered damage), they are fine.

Here's an example of that the marks look like when the valve makes contact with the piston.

As long as the damage is minimal (like in this pic), and as long as you didn't crack/break the upper ring land, then they're reusable. You'd just need to debur and smooth out the impact marks so that they don't become hot spots for detonation.

yeah, all I see is the reliefs for the valves on the pistons. Looks like no contact was made on those two... it will be shiney metal where the valves hit the piston... not blackened from combustion...
