Portage La Prairie,
I have exhaustively researched this problem and am looking for a bit of experience to help with it. I recently ordered a 6 bolt motor from a local parts chain, i was delivered a GVR4 engine that looks to be in really good shape, i had specifically asked for a 6 bolt because i didn't know what was in my 2g and through the course of trying to figure it out had discovered that it had a TD04 which i thought meant that it had a 1g motor. The mechanic that i have working on it is a licensed mechanic that works for the city garage during the day and does side jobs out of his shop at night and on the weekends. He has the motor completely swapped we used the magnus CAS harness mod to wire it up but it has no ignition and no fuel. What is complicating things in our troubleshooting is that the motor has been swapped at least once before in my car, and it had a 95-96 motor in it and someone looks to have been "modifying" the harness prior to my ownership so far none of the wiring diagrams from any of the donor vehicle types are matching up properly to what is in the car. He is getting pretty frusterated ( I can't say i blame him he thought he was doing a straightforward motor drop and he has ended up doing a 6 bolt swap! ) i just thought i would ask here if anyone had any ideas as to what we should be looking at tommorow he is going to try swapping to the coil pack off of the GVR4 motor, and do the voltage tests to figure out which wire colors we need to be working with. Anything else we should try?
