GVR4 1st gear failure.

Are you or have you run a GVR4 1st gear?

Did it fail? If so, what do you think your hp level was?

Did it fail on the street or strip?

If you are still running the gvr4 1st gear with out issue. What is you power level please?

I'm tempted to run one do to my relatively low hp levels; under 300. With that in mind, what do you guys think?

Are you running the GVR4 gear yourself?

The GVR4 gear is the actually weaker than the stock 1st gear.

The STRONGEST first gear available is the JDM 11% Taller Evo III 1st gear. It comes with the input shaft and is double syncro'd, and you can get it from TRE for around $300.

I do not recommend the GRV4 gear for high hp levels, and I know Jacks Transmission will install the gear if you wish, but I don't think they will warranty it if it fails due to it being weaker than stock.

No, I don't run one. I'm in the market for a tranny build and Jack offered to through a gvr4 in for free because he is waiting on a shipment of evo 1st gears to come in.

I don't run the track very often and my car is under 300hp. I'm just doing some research before I hold off for the evo gear I think.

Well then honestly, I would either wait for the EVO gear, or go for stock. Or just get it from TRE.
